ANNA YOUNG

I first attended Pilates classes over fifteen years ago; they sparked an interest and eventually a career change. I have been teaching Pilates since 2010; firstly I did my mat work training with Corpus Pilates, and later, my fully comprehensive equipment Pilates with Lolita’s Legacy. Pilates for me personally, has always been about managing pain, being able to move freely and comfortably and live a full and active life the way I want to. As a Pilates teacher, I love being able to help people move to the best of their ability, allowing them the freedom and confidence to live life as they wish to. I started working with Claire in lockdown. Having had twins ten years earlier, I had since lived and worked around “movement and exercise concessions”. I did part one of her WBPH online course, alongside classes with Claire. This work made a huge difference to me and how I felt and moved in my body. It felt like finding the missing piece of a jigsaw. When I saw how much difference Whole…

BECKY DUNN

I’ve been practising Pilates for the last 15 years and teaching for the last 6. I’m qualified in both Polestar Pilates and Balanced Body and I teach privately at my small studio in Braintree and run classes in Dunmow and Felsted in Essex. I’ve always been a big believer in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing and having been introduced to Claire Sparrow’s Whole Body Pelvic Health approach was a real lightbulb moment. I have seen Pilates and the WBPH approach make a real and positive difference to so many clients physically and mentally. I love working with woman and seeing their confidence in themselves grow as they realise just what their bodies are capable of given the right environment.

BRYONY MYLROIE-SMITH

I first became interested in pelvic health when recovering from hernia surgery at 19 and I realised how much the surgery had impacted how my whole body felt! My training in dance took me on a journey of appreciation for the human body (anatomy and movement) which brought me to Pilates: doing, training and teaching. My specialist focuses within my Pilates studio are Pre and Post Natal wellbeing, including Pilates and mindset coaching.

CAROLE BARRIE

After 30 years stuck in an office, I decided in 2015 it was time for a change for me, my mind, and my body. Over the years, I have become a fully qualified Pilates teacher, Comprehensive in all apparatus equipment and Level 4 mat), a level 4 qualified Pilates exercise therapist, and fitness class coach in indoor cycling, Aqua, and other fitness class. I enjoy making classes fun, and challenging people’s bodies and minds to feel better whatever they do. In 2022 I took on the challenge of training under Claire Sparrow’s mentorship in Whole Body Pelvic Health. As someone with their fair share of pelvic issues, it was a wonderful experience to learn and successfully practice on me. I look forward to meeting and helping people through their journey as a WBPH Master Teacher.

CHARLOTTE WITHEFORD

My professional Pilates journey began ten years ago with Polestar in London (UK) where I completed my Mat and Comprehensive training. I LOVE Pilates because it is a delicious form of movement that is accessible and complementary to absolutely everyone. The ultimate condiment, in my opinion! In 2017 I opened the Pilates Recipe Studio in Christchurch, New Zealand, working with people of all ages and abilities, privately and in very small groups. Curiosity behind pelvic health has been growing for years since having my children, and thanks to my dear friend Jenny Newbury (who is also a WBPH mentor), I was introduced to Claire Sparrow and embarked on her Whole Body Pelvic Health (WBPH) mentorship programme. The WBPH Method has provided me with a whole new lens to support all of my clients in an even more holistic way, complementing the ambitions of my studio to create positive, delicious and intelligent movement patterns for each individual. I am excited to integrate the principles of WBPH…

JENNY NEWBERY

I decided to train in Pilates whilst working as a sports massage therapist with a team of physiotherapists who were all Pilates instructors. Always keen to further help my massage clients and deepen my knowledge of the body, I trained with Polestar in 2013. I was fortunate to meet Claire Sparrow online thanks to the lockdowns and join her Whole Body Pelvic Health Course. This method has changed the way I teach my clients and they are all feeling the amazing benefits no matter what age they are! I live in Milford on Sea and run my own classes locally as well as for Coast Pilates in Lymington and the local Leisure Centre.

JULIE LATHAM

The pelvis is key to Whole Body movement but also is the site most affected by period pain, childbirth, gastric issues and surgery. For women the natural soft, feminine curves of the abdominal wall have become the target of many mainstream exercise regimes and media platforms which portray the angular, taut “six-pack” look as the new desirable female shape. Recently I studied Claire and Anna’s course and have since adopted Claire’s Pelvic Health principles of breath, release, movement, control and co-ordination as a basis for my Pilates sessions.I have seen softening and balance restore natural pelvic rhythms in walking and everyday whole body and remarkable improvements in pelvic ease and comfort. I am privileged to have the skills and knowledge to confidently guide my clients towards their new Pilates bodies, regardless of age, fitness level, medical history or starting point. Watching everyone develop the sublime quality of being “Poetry in Motion” through my…

SUE BENNETT

She received her diploma in Manipulative Therapy in 2002 and the title of Physiotherapist in 2004. As a massage therapist, Sue has always worked by the ethos that the body needs to be understood as a whole. This inspired her search for a technique which would acknowledge the precision needed in practice as well as the person behind the pain. After reading Dr. Hendrickson’s textbook Massage and Manual Therapy for Orthopedic Conditions, she knew she wanted to study Hendrickson Method ®. In 2006 she began her HM training in Berkeley, flying back and forth from Otley, England in order to study with Dr. Hendrickson. In 2009 she became the UK’s first qualified Hendrickson Method ® Therapist and in 2013 she began offering the UK’s first HM workshops. Sue is a certified HM Teacher, leading HM trainings in addition to having a vibrant private Practice. Sue is also a Nero linguistic practitioner, to help patients facilitate change for themselves.
