June is Prolapse Awareness Month and We’re Speaking Up!
Did you know that at least 50% of women will experience pelvic organ prolapse in their lifetime? That’s one in every two women. And yet, most of us have never had an open, honest conversation about it.
This month is about changing that.
Prolapse is one of the most common yet misunderstood pelvic floor conditions. It often shows up silently, and for many women, the diagnosis brings fear, shame, and a confusing list of things they’re suddenly “not allowed” to do.
I see it all the time. Women who’ve been told to stop running, lifting, laughing, or even living freely. They’re left feeling paralysed, uncertain, and isolated.
But here’s what I want you to know:
👉 You are not broken.
👉 You are not alone.
👉 You don’t have to stop doing the things you love.
At Whole Body Pelvic Health, we believe in restoring choice, confidence, and clarity. Our approach isn’t about restrictions – it’s about learning how to move in a way that supports your unique body, builds resilience, and reduces fear.
What Does Prolapse Feel Like?
These are some of the most common symptoms:
- A bulging or heaviness in your vagina
- A dragging sensation, like something is stuck or pulling down
- Deep hip or groin pain, or aching near the tailbone
- A feeling of incomplete emptying after a bowel movement
- Leaks or dribbles post-toilet
- A sense that your body just doesn’t feel quite right
If this sounds familiar, please know: you don’t have to figure it out alone.
What We’re Doing For Prolapse Awareness Month
Instead of handing you a long list of “don’ts”…
We’re focusing on what you CAN do.
✨ You can move.
✨ You can strengthen.
✨ You can laugh.
✨ You can lift your kids, lift weights, and lift your spirits.
Throughout June, we’ll be sharing strategies, stories, and solutions that put you back in the driver’s seat. Because living with prolapse doesn’t mean putting life on pause.
