Refocus, Refine, and Recommit to Your Practice and Purpose
Do you have that “back to school” feeling?
Maybe you’ve already treated yourself to a fresh notebook, some new pens, and that satisfying sense of a clean slate. There’s something so joyful about this time of year: the potential, the fresh starts, the return of structure. September, to me, feels a lot like January. It’s a natural pause, a reset, a time to reflect and refocus.
And if you’re a Pilates teacher, you play a vital role in this seasonal reset for your clients. As they return to routine, your consistent, grounding presence in their lives really matters. Pilates for teachers isn’t just about delivering movement – it’s about guiding transformation.
But what about you?
Are you ready for what’s ahead?
Is your cup full?
Do you have your own routine and rhythm in place as you move into the final chapter of 2025?
Why September Is the Perfect Time to Reflect and Refocus
For many of us, summer brings a change of pace. A slower rhythm. A shift in priorities. That’s natural, and often needed. But now, as we step into the final stretch of the year, it’s a powerful opportunity to get clear on where we’re headed and how we want to feel when we get there.
Every September, I carve out time to journal and reflect. I choose a theme or focus to guide my work and personal life through the last few months of the year. It helps me stay aligned with what really matters in my Pilates for teachers work and in my pelvic health education for women.
If you’re feeling a little scattered or simply seeking more intention, I’d love to invite you to join me in this process.
September Journal Prompts for Pilates Teachers
Here are the questions I journal on each September. Take 10 minutes (or more!) with your notebook and just let your thoughts flow.
- What do I want to put my energy into and create or achieve in these last few months?
- What needs clarity or adjustment to feel aligned and satisfying as I close out the year?
- Who or what needs my attention right now?
Once I’ve explored these questions, I move into action mode:
I make lists, book appointments, put things in the diary, and get practical. This simple process keeps me grounded and focused, and ensures that I’m not just thinking about what matters, I’m actually doing something about it.
My Theme for the Rest of 2025: Refinement
This year, my theme is refinement – going deeper, not wider. Honing in on what’s working, clearing out what’s not, and bringing more clarity to everything I offer.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
In the Whole Body Pelvic Health Membership
I’m reviewing the content, refining names and categories, and making sure there are no gaps that could prevent women from truly winning their pelvic floor support. I want it to feel clear, accessible, and actionable, every step of the way.
In My Teaching Practice
I’m preparing for upcoming workshops in China and Portugal, rehearsing out loud and refining how I deliver these powerful messages to different audiences of Pilates teachers and movement professionals.
In My Own Movement Practice
I’m returning to the mat. Amidst the noise around reformer Pilates, I’m rediscovering the quiet power of the matwork. It’s where I fell in love with Pilates, and it continues to offer such depth and subtlety.
What’s Coming for Teachers (Like You!)

Teacher Membership – Refreshed!
I’ve reimagined the Teacher Membership to include more value, connection, and community. If you’re seeking regular inspiration and support in your teaching practice, find all the details here.
Prioritising Self-Care and Professional Growth
Refinement isn’t just about the work; it’s about the whole picture.
My Self-Care
I’ve booked a massage with one of my amazing clients who specialises in Myofascial Release. I’m also planning a lovely facial with Robyn (once she returns from maternity leave). In the meantime, I’m keeping up my gua sha routine – here’s the tool she recommends if you’d like to join me in that ritual. And no… I will not have wrinkles, thank you very much!
My Professional Development
This November, I’m heading to Germany for a dissection lab with Gary Carter, deepening my understanding of fascia and the body, part of my long-term investment in pelvic health education. I’ve also extended my stay in China to continue learning from Brent Anderson and spending time with the Polestar Pilates Faculty.
Your Invitation to Reflect
If you’ve been feeling a little adrift post-summer, I hope this gives you a gentle nudge to pause, reset, and reconnect to your purpose as a teacher. This is your time to refine your focus, reclaim your rhythm, and reignite your passion for the work you do.
Take a moment, grab your notebook, and ask:
👉 What do I want this next chapter to feel like?
And then?
Put it in the diary.
Book the thing.
Take the first step.
Because the women you teach need your wisdom and presence—and that starts with you staying connected to your pelvic floor support, your Whole Body Pelvic Health journey, and your own Pilates teacher mentorship.
